2026/2027 SCHEDULE

Welcome back to the Vicksburg

Art Association 2026/2027 season! We are so excited to showcase local artists and promote the arts throughout the Vicksburg area. This year we are offering bi-monthly programming to provide more in-depth topics to our members. Topics include: Fiber Arts, Telling Stories Through Art, and Retrospectives on the work of Katalin Gergo and Frida Kahlo. 

The 2nd Annual Hipstoric Arts Festival will take place October 2nd through 4th. To kickoff the event we will be hosting a Legacy Show September 24th at the HC Porter Gallery, featuring work of well-known Vicksburg artists who have passed. This will lead directly into our Fall Show with the opening reception September 26th. You

may have already received your prospectus in the mail. Entering your work for the Fall show is a great way to establish your membership for the season. 

Speaking of memberships, our Patron, Silver, Gold, and Platinum tiers include tickets to our Christmas Party fundraiser, which is set for Friday, December 4th. We have a fun theme in mind, so keep an eye out for your invitation and gather items that can be included in the silent auction. Remember, you can choose to donate 50% or 100% of the proceeds from your donated item if it sells. 

Last year, we won an award for our Mardi Gras parade entry! This year we hope to expand our membership participation for decorating and walking the parade; it’s a great way to show off our organization to the community. 

Of course in March we will highlight our young artists with the Children and Youth shows, led by Karen Biedenharn and Daisy Tuminello . To ensure your child can take part, make sure your school is aware of this opportunity and have your art teacher contact Karen and Daisy.
